Busy times for theFilmakers: Next to the release of the ChemicalLoveCrush album in the UK and other parts of the world, getting the TAKEN video nominated at a few movie festivals and performing in Italy the guys have also started recording the video for the new Transoceanica single. And that one will be, like the other theFilmakers videos, a real gem! And so we’ve got a little treat for you guys: we can show you a few backstage pictures of the recording of the new Transoceanica video.. right now! Enjoy!

The UK: album release!

As of tomorrow, Monday the 19th of July, UK fans will be able to buy the theFilmakers “ChemicalLoveCrush” album at HMV! Check out the HMV website to buy the album online or to get more info. Stay tuned for the theFilmakers album release in other parts of Europe soon!

Very good news from our guys! theFilmakers are ready to make their international debut as the “ChemicalLoveCrush” album will be released in Europe, Australia and Asia this summer! After shooting their first official video “LAST SUMMER”, in Venice, the guys are now working on the new video “TRANSOCEANICA”, set for release in September 2010. Keep an eye on the official theFilmakers website and ofcourse our website to discover release dates, official video premieres and more! TAKEN nominated again!

After entering the TOP 20 at the BABELGUM MUSIC AWARDS in the category ‘best indie videos of 2009’, the “TAKEN” video (directed by sci-fi visionnaires Fabio Guaglione & Fabio Resinaro) is nominated again.. twice!
The music video, made in 2009, truly interprets the cinematographic soul of theFilmakers, joining cinema & music through rock. The main actor of the video is Roberto Laureri, male lead of “AfterVille”, the short movie by Fabio&Fabio who won several international awards in 2008 including Méliès d’Argent as BEST FANTASTY EUROPEAN SHORT MOVIE OF THE YEAR (Sitges, Spain).
This time the amazing “TAKEN” video is nominated in the category ‘best video’ at the PALACE FILM FESTIVAL in Balchik (Bulgaria), and in addition also nominated at the PORTUGAL FILM FEST (Espino, Portugal). So from the shores of the Black Sea to those of the Atlantic Ocean theFilmakers are turning heads with their videos! Great news!

“ChemicalLoveCrush” ShowCase

On Tuesday the 6th of April the band will introduce the new “ChemicalLoveCrush” album during a ShowCase at LA CASA, Via Ripamonti 139 Milano.

The countdown to the official launch of the video “TAKEN” has begun. The first official video from the forthcoming album “CHEMICAL LOVE CRUSH” was directed by Fabio Guaglione and Fabio Resinaro.

Babelgum Metropolis is looking for the globe’s best and edgiest artists for the world’s biggest art show (probably!). Winners will have their work shown on giant advertising screens this December in Times Square, the neon heart of New York City. Not only will they share their artwork with millions in the world’s contemporary art capital, they’ll also enjoy the kudos of being a maverick art squatter among New York’s most expensive advertising real estate! Overall winners will be chosen by iconic arthouse actress and video artist Isabella Rossellini and an illustrious panel of judges from the art world like Cedar Lewisohn, Lee Wells and Howard Halle.

Audience Voting for the Babelgum Metropolis Art Prize began on November 4th and come to an end on December 6th – Your votes will determine the winner of the Audience Award, the lucky recipient of which will get $5000 and have their work exhibited in Times Square, New York..

In a previous update we asked you guys & dolls to vote on theFILMAKERS videos and… what do ya know: the audience voting is only active for 2 days and theFILMAKERS already entered the TOP 30 list!!!

You must have felt it… oh come… theFILMAKERS are on the move.. things are happening sexy ladies and gents…

The past few weeks the guys from theFILMAKERS have been busy working on the soundtrack for the Little world Movie, a short movie by Marco F. Zymprich. 2 songs from “Little World Soundtrack” have been added to the official theFILMAKERS myspace: A wonderful day & How Can U Stand Next To Me. The guys will update their myspace with new media soon… so make sure to watch that space!

Next to that they’ve performed their new album at the legendary LA CASA venue.. a wild and hot night with sensational vibe for those that were present and for those that weren’t.. make sure to join the party next time. We’ll keep you posted on tourdates, promise
